What to expect, tickets, opening times, and planning tips
Aqua Action is a large inflatable aqua park set on the lake at Fairlop Waters Country Park, on the London–Essex border. It is a proper open-water obstacle course — think floating walkways, climbing surfaces, slides, and ‘wipe-out’ style challenges — rather than a leisure-centre pool day.
Aqua Action operates as a separate on-site attraction at Fairlop Waters Country Park, which is managed by Vision RCL.
The operator runs 55-minute sessions and sets a clear participation requirement: you must be able to swim 20 metres unaided, because the course sits about 25 metres from the bank and you swim out to reach it.
If you are choosing between inflatable aqua parks near London, Aqua Action stands out for two reasons:
- It is genuinely easy to reach by public transport — Fairlop Underground Station is on the Central line (Zone 4), close to the park.
- The ticket is straightforward: £20 per person for a 55-minute aqua park session, with buoyancy aid hire included and wetsuits included (optional, and issued at staff discretion in warm weather).

What to expect on the water
Aqua Action is best thought of as a timed, high-energy circuit. You swim out to the course, climb on, and then spend your session moving around a modular layout of inflatable elements — balancing, climbing, slipping, sliding, and (usually) falling into the water.
The open-water setting is part of the appeal, but it is also the part you should plan for most carefully:
- The approach swim matters. You must be comfortable swimming about 25 metres to reach the course, and the operator states that lifeguards watch the swim out and may ask you to return to shore if you are not a competent swimmer (with no refund).
- It is physical. If you want a gentle splash-about, this may feel intense. If you want laughter, adrenaline, and a proper challenge, it is exactly that.
- Grip socks are not optional. This is one of those venues where forgetting a small item can derail your session — socks are compulsory, although you can buy them when you arrive.
A practical way to picture the experience is: the first 10 minutes are excitement and chaos, the middle is where you find your rhythm (and favourite features), and the final 10 minutes are where you either go ‘one last try’ on the big obstacles or you cruise around with your group laughing at the wipe-outs.

Who Aqua Action is best for
Families with confident swimmers aged 6+
Aqua Action is suitable from age 6, but the swim requirement and the open-water layout mean it tends to suit children who are already comfortable in water and happy being splashed and dunked repeatedly.
For ages 6–7, the supervision ratio is a big planning point: one adult can accompany two children on the course, so families often book in pairs (one adult, one child) or as a four (two adults, two children) to keep supervision simple.
Teen and adult groups
This is a strong choice for birthdays, mate-days, and team socials because you are all in the same activity for the full session, and the operator offers group discounts on 10+ and 20+ tickets.
Anyone building a ‘full day out’ around Fairlop Waters
Fairlop Waters Country Park has plenty to extend the visit — including water sports, cycling routes, natural play areas, a boulder park, a nature reserve, and food and drink options. Aqua Action also highlights several on-site partners around the lake (such as Owls Soft Play, a Greek restaurant, and a café/bar).

Aqua Action lists a 55-minute Aqua Park session at £20 per person, and the operator states that wetsuit and buoyancy aid hire are included in the ticket price (buoyancy aids are mandatory; wetsuits are optional).

Grip socks are compulsory. The operator lists them at £2, and says you can buy them online when booking or at reception (you can also bring your own grip socks, or soft-soled wet shoes, as long as they stay on securely).
Group discounts (automatic at checkout)
Aqua Action lists the following group discounts, applied automatically when tickets are purchased in one transaction:
- 10% off for 10–19 tickets.
- 20% off for 20+ tickets.

Opening times and season dates
As at today the venue has not published the 2026 season dates.
2025 season dates were 5 April 2025 – 21 September 2025.
Aqua Action publishes a simple operating pattern: term time weekends and daily during school and public holidays, with sessions running between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Because this is an outdoor, seasonal activity, your safest approach is:
- Check the live booking calendar for your date.
- Book the session that matches your group.
- Build your travel around arriving 30 minutes early (not just ‘on time’).

Booking, waivers, and arriving on time
Do you have to book online?
Aqua Action says you can book online, and that walk-ins are welcome, but it warns there is a maximum capacity so walk-in slots are not guaranteed.
If you are travelling any distance — or visiting on a hot weekend — booking online is the sensible move.
Arrive early (30 minutes)
The operator asks you to arrive 30 minutes before your session start time to check in, get changed, and listen to the safety briefing.
Waivers (every session)
Aqua Action states you need a new waiver for each session, and it encourages completing waivers before you arrive.
Refunds and changes
Aqua Action states it does not offer refunds, but you can amend your booking up to 7 days prior to your session.

Age rules and swim requirements
Minimum age and supervision
- Suitable for ages 6+.
- Ages 6–7 require an accompanying adult on the Aqua Park at a 1 adult : 2 children ratio.
- Ages 8+ do not require an adult on the Aqua Park, but an adult still needs to complete the waiver on their behalf.
Swimming ability (non-negotiable)
Aqua Action states all users must be able to swim 20 metres unaided, and that the Aqua Park is approximately 25 metres from the bank, which you must swim over to.
It also states that lifeguards monitor the swim over, and if they judge someone is not a competent swimmer they will be asked to return to shore, with no refunds for incompetent swimmers.

What to wear and what to bring
Aqua Action is clear on the essentials, and you can build a simple packing list around them.
Wetsuits and buoyancy aids
Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are included in the ticket price. Buoyancy aids are mandatory; wetsuits are optional, and the operator reserves the right not to issue wetsuits when it deems the weather too warm (it also states that swimwear must be worn under wetsuits).
Socks or wet shoes
Grip socks are compulsory, but you can bring your own grip socks or soft-soled wet shoes. The operator notes that socks should not be low trainer-style socks, and should come higher up your ankle so they stay on.
A practical ‘do not forget’ checklist
This is not venue policy — it is simply what makes the day smoother:
- Swimwear (wear it under your clothes if you want to change quickly)
- Towel and a dry set of clothes
- A warm layer for after your session (even on sunny days, you can feel cold once you stop moving)
- Water and a snack for afterwards (especially with children)
- A £1 coin is not needed for lockers here, but a padlock can be very useful — see below

Facilities: lockers, showers, and changing
Aqua Action provides practical, outdoor-event-style facilities — not leisure-centre changing rooms.
- Lockers: available on a first-come, first-served basis. You can bring your own padlock or purchase one on site for £3.
- Showers: rinse-off showers only, intended for a quick rinse after your session.
- Changing: a mix of cubicles and open changing. The operator encourages guests to arrive ready with swimwear on and change quickly to keep sessions flowing.

Aqua Action Reviews
Aqua Action at Fairlop Waters Country Park has quickly built a reputation as one of the most exciting inflatable water parks in Greater London. Drawing families, thrill-seekers, and school groups from across Essex and beyond, the attraction receives generally positive reviews for its lively atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and attentive staff. Like any seasonal outdoor venue, feedback varies, with some visitors commenting on session cancellations and refund clarity. However, most guests describe it as a memorable day out that combines fun, fitness, and fresh air.
Well organised with lockers (take your own padlock, buy one for £3 or use lockers without one at your own risk). You really don’t want to take a phone or valuables out on the water – if it falls in you ain’t getting it out!
Grip socks for £2. No showers but changing cubicles available. Nice staff.
1 hr was plenty of time for us, but I noticed groups of older kids doing 2hrs and I can see why.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. It was great to see that there were enough staff members to monitor all areas and people , creating a safe environment for everyone.
After our time at the lake, we appreciated having the option to shower, refreshing ourselves before heading out. Parking was reasonably priced at around £5.30 for the entire day, which was manageable and allowed us to enjoy a lovely dinner and a walk .
The views here are simply stunning—perfect for capturing memorable moments! For families with small kids, there’s a fantastic soft play area and a beautiful park nearby
Overall, I can’t recommend this activity enough! It’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing day by the water. Don’t miss out on this incredible experience!
Today on 27-07-2024 , we came at fairlop water park we first went to owl play centre which was so good and staff was so nice. After that at 17:00 we went to children water ( aqua action ) where there was just a little bit water. When we ask the staff they said we got problem and water is leaking thats why we dont have proper water here. You can clearly see the photos of leaking aswell. My child went to play in water but there was just a little dirty water. We ask reception for the refund but they simply refused saying it is what it is. Manager came he was nice and sensible he gave us free ticket for the next time but maybe his staff were manipulating him and after giving us ticket he said i should not give you free ticket for next time. Anyway my child went inside after 15 minutes they said session is over and you have to leave. Like We spent 12£ for 15 minutes for that dirty little water?
It was ridiculous.
Safety & Cleanliness notes
Supervision and assistance: Several comments praise the fun factor but ask for more hands-on help from staff to re-mount inflatables and closer monitoring during busy sessions. The operator states that lifeguards supervise all sessions and that grip socks and buoyancy aids are mandatory.
Operational reliability: A recent review reports a short-notice cancellation, reinforcing the value of checking live updates on the day, especially in variable weather.

A note from the author
What stood out most at Aqua Action was how simple, outdoorsy fun depends on a few practical details. The approach swim is real — you must be comfortable in open water before the session starts.
Grip socks that cover the ankle are genuinely important for traction on the modules, and arriving 30 minutes early makes the briefing and kit-up stress free. Families with mixed ages tend to relax more when younger children use Aqua Tots, while confident swimmers tackle the main course.

Summary: is Aqua Action worth it?
If you want an inflatable aqua park in London that feels like a real outdoor adventure — not a pool session with a few floats — Aqua Action at Fairlop Waters is a strong pick. It is clear on the practicalities (55-minute sessions, arrive 30 minutes early, waivers every time, grip socks compulsory), and the location works well for day-trippers because the surrounding country park gives you plenty to do before or after your session.
The deciding factor is swimming confidence. If everyone in your group can swim comfortably, you will probably love it. If anyone is unsure in open water, the 25-metre swim to the course and the fast, slippery nature of inflatables can turn it into a stressful experience — and the operator is explicit about the no-refund approach if someone cannot complete the swim safely.
