outdoor inflatable water park
Aqua Action is an outdoor inflatable water park — a floating obstacle course of slides, climbing features and jumping platforms — set on the main lake at Fairlop Waters Country Park in Barkingside, east London.
It is purpose-built for splashy, high-energy fun on the water, with a short swim from the shore to the course and lifeguards supervising all sessions. As a lakeside attraction rather than an indoor leisure pool, expect open-air conditions, rinse-off showers, mixed open and cubicle changing, and simple, get-you-in-the-water facilities designed to keep sessions flowing.
Wetsuit and buoyancy-aid hire are included with standard tickets; buoyancy aids are mandatory, and grip socks must be worn on the inflatables for safety and traction.
The park is aimed at confident swimmers aged 6+. Children aged 6–7 must be accompanied on the course by an adult at a 1:2 ratio; ages 8+ may go on without an adult, but still require an adult to complete the waiver.
All participants must be able to swim 20 metres unaided — there is a short swim of roughly 25 metres to reach the course — and you are asked to arrive 30 minutes early for check-in, changing and the safety briefing. Sessions are 55 minutes.
Around the lake you will also find family-friendly amenities run by park partners — such as Owls Soft Play, Fiskardo’s Greek restaurant and the Boathouse café/bar — which makes it easy to turn an Aqua Action visit into a longer day out at Fairlop Waters.
Seasonal Availability
Aqua Action is a seasonal attraction. For 2025, the park is scheduled to operate from 5 April 2025 to 21 September 2025, typically 10am – 6pm at weekends in term time and daily 10am – 6pm during school and public holidays.
Always verify the live calendar before you travel, as dates and hours can change with weather and operational needs.

Attractions & Features at Aqua Action
Main Attractions
Aqua Action is a colourful, modular inflatable water park set on the lake at Fairlop Waters — a floating assault course with obstacles, slides, walkways and climbing features designed for energetic, splash-heavy fun.
Expect to swim around 25 metres from the shore to reach the course, then take on a loop of elements for the full 55-minute session.
The official site confirms supervision by lifeguards, mandatory buoyancy aids, and grip socks required on the inflatables for traction.
Special Rides
Highlights frequently mentioned by the council and local press include a 3.5-metre climbing tower, two-metre balance beam, blast bag that launches jumpers skywards, jump platforms and drop slides.
The supplier, Airspace Solutions, further confirms Aqua Action as an Atlantis-brand open-water aqua park installed on the lake.
Kids & Family Areas
Alongside the main aqua action water park, younger visitors have Aqua Tots — a shallow, splash-style inflatable zone for roughly ages 1–8, with playful features such as a turtle trampoline, rainbow shapes and inflatable swans.
It is separate from the main course and does not require swimming ability, but adult supervision is mandatory. This family-friendly add-on is useful for mixed-age groups visiting Fairlop Waters together.
Relaxation Areas
There is no dedicated beach club or spa here — this is a straightforward inflatable park experience on a country-park lake — but spectators can enjoy the wider Fairlop Waters Country Park setting, including the Boathouse café/bar with lakeside views.
The country park is operated by Vision RCL and also features walking routes and picnic-friendly green space for those not participating in the session.
Unique Features
Open-water setting within Greater London — a genuine inflatable water park London experience that you can reach on the Central line.
Purpose-built Atlantis modules by a UK manufacturer, tailored for lake installation at Fairlop Waters Country Park.
A complementary toddler option (Aqua Tots) that helps families with mixed ages plan a single day out at Fairlop Waters — useful for searches like “aqua action Fairlop waters” and “aqua tots fairlop”.

Baby & Infant Facilities
Baby Changing Facilities
Aqua Action’s own facilities page confirms rinse-off showers, mixed open/cubicle changing and lockers, but it does not state whether baby changing stations are provided. Fairlop Waters Country Park lists public toilets on site; however, dedicated baby-change provision is not specified.
If you require a changing table, please check with Aqua Action or Vision RCL before travelling.
Bottle-Warming Stations
No dedicated bottle‑warming stations are available at Aqua Action. Plan to bring items pre-prepared, and consider the country-park café options for hot water if needed
Baby Pools
There is no baby pool at the inflatable water park. Instead, families with very young children can look to Aqua Tots — a separate, shallow splash-style inflatable zone designed for younger kids (approximately ages 1–8) with playful features (for example, turtle trampoline, rainbow shapes, inflatable swans).
Aqua Tots does not require swimming ability, but active adult supervision is mandatory.

Aqua Action Reviews
Aqua Action at Fairlop Waters Country Park has quickly built a reputation as one of the most exciting inflatable water parks in Greater London. Drawing families, thrill-seekers, and school groups from across Essex and beyond, the attraction receives generally positive reviews for its lively atmosphere, well-maintained facilities, and attentive staff. Like any seasonal outdoor venue, feedback varies, with some visitors commenting on session cancellations and refund clarity. However, most guests describe it as a memorable day out that combines fun, fitness, and fresh air.
Well organised with lockers (take your own padlock, buy one for £3 or use lockers without one at your own risk). You really don’t want to take a phone or valuables out on the water – if it falls in you ain’t getting it out!
Grip socks for £2. No showers but changing cubicles available. Nice staff.
1 hr was plenty of time for us, but I noticed groups of older kids doing 2hrs and I can see why.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. It was great to see that there were enough staff members to monitor all areas and people , creating a safe environment for everyone.
After our time at the lake, we appreciated having the option to shower, refreshing ourselves before heading out. Parking was reasonably priced at around £5.30 for the entire day, which was manageable and allowed us to enjoy a lovely dinner and a walk .
The views here are simply stunning—perfect for capturing memorable moments! For families with small kids, there’s a fantastic soft play area and a beautiful park nearby
Overall, I can’t recommend this activity enough! It’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing day by the water. Don’t miss out on this incredible experience!
Today on 27-07-2024 , we came at fairlop water park we first went to owl play centre which was so good and staff was so nice. After that at 17:00 we went to children water ( aqua action ) where there was just a little bit water. When we ask the staff they said we got problem and water is leaking thats why we dont have proper water here. You can clearly see the photos of leaking aswell. My child went to play in water but there was just a little dirty water. We ask reception for the refund but they simply refused saying it is what it is. Manager came he was nice and sensible he gave us free ticket for the next time but maybe his staff were manipulating him and after giving us ticket he said i should not give you free ticket for next time. Anyway my child went inside after 15 minutes they said session is over and you have to leave. Like We spent 12£ for 15 minutes for that dirty little water?
It was ridiculous.
Safety & Cleanliness notes
Supervision and assistance: Several comments praise the fun factor but ask for more hands-on help from staff to re-mount inflatables and closer monitoring during busy sessions. The operator states that lifeguards supervise all sessions and that grip socks and buoyancy aids are mandatory.
Operational reliability: A recent review reports a short-notice cancellation, reinforcing the value of checking live updates on the day, especially in variable weather.

Safety & Health Guidelines
Swimming ability and approach swim
The aqua action water park requires all participants to swim 20 metres unaided. There is an approach swim of approximately 25 metres from the bank to the inflatable park. If staff judge that you are not a competent swimmer during the approach, you will be instructed to return to shore and no refund is issued.
Arrival and safety briefing
Arrive 30 minutes before your session for check-in, changing, and a mandatory safety briefing. Sessions on the inflatable water park run for 55 minutes.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Buoyancy aids are mandatory and supplied to all guests.
Wetsuits are included in the ticket price but optional. Management may withhold wetsuits in hot weather for safety; swimwear must be worn under wetsuits. Guests who require modest swimwear for religious reasons should bring appropriate swim clothing as for a standard pool.
Grip socks are compulsory on the inflatables for traction. You may bring your own ankle-covering grip socks or purchase on site.
Supervision and lifeguarding
Sessions are lifeguarded. Lifeguards provide oversight and emergency response but not 1:1 in-water assistance or chaperoning. Follow staff instructions at all times on the inflatable park and during the approach swim.
Health considerations
The operator does not publish a detailed medical exclusions list online. If you have a condition affecting mobility, heart or respiratory function, epilepsy, pregnancy or recent injury/surgery, contact the team in advance for tailored advice. This helps ensure the water park experience remains safe for your party.
Cold and heat management (general open-water advice)
Lake water can feel cooler than an indoor swim park. Consider using the included wetsuit on cooler days and exit the water if you feel cold or unwell.
In hot weather, apply water-resistant sunscreen before changing, bring drinking water, and take shade between activities.
Hygiene and changing
Facilities include mixed open and cubicle changing, rinse-off showers and lockers (bring a padlock or buy one for approximately £3). Showers are for a quick rinse to keep sessions flowing.
